Irricon offers technical and practical expertise and encourages collaboration between irrigators, regulators, and the farming community to feed in to and develop regional catchment plans. This is to ensure that everyone is involved and can contribute at a technical level, working with the regulators formulating the plan, and have influence at the development stage, rather than later during the costly and controversial hearing process.

Irrigation schemes and large scale projects also use Irricon to provide technical and practical assistance with these processes.  In addition, regulators engage Irricon to assist with the review of allocations and with the formulation or review of catchment plans.
